History

Pex was founded in 1985 – our main objective being to remanufacture hydraulic equipment which was previously discarded. With continued emphasis placed on local manufacture and development, we have become one of the largest services of hydraulic equipment in Southern Africa. Our scope of work now includes the remanufacture of hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and control valves as well as the supply of hydraulic and hoses equipment and the design and manufacture of hydraulic systems.

Pex Manufacturing and Pex foundry were established to cast and manufacture hydraulic components, previously imported, saving downtime and costs. Both divisions have since grown into independently viable businesses, servicing a wide spectrum of other industries with precision general engineering work.

The Pex team now exceeds 200 people, with the head office in Cape Town and branches in Johannesburg, Springbok, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Angola. Pex services the whole of the greater Africa and other export markets with large stocks of components for most makes of hydraulic equipment.

Our dedication to customer satisfaction led us to implement a quality management system based on ISO 9001 – 2000. Following this, our branches have taken steps to implement the same.
